Course Outline

The biomedical sciences encompass a diverse range of dynamic disciplines and overlap with many related areas in health and medicine. Providing information services for teaching, learning, research, and industry in biomedical science poses many challenges for information professionals.

In this one day workshop, a range of speakers will cover:

  • the latest developments in electronic information resources for biomedical sciences
  • the role of the information professional in supporting biomedical research
  • social software - finding the best of web 2.0 while avoiding the hype

The workshop will finish with a forum for discussing and sharing experiences, innovation and best practice.

This workshop is aimed at information professionals involved in providing information services for biomedical sciences across the sectors.

Nick Woolley has been working in university libraries in the UK for over ten years, and currently works at King's College London as the Information Specialist for the School of Biomedical & Health Sciences.
